CFSI Undertakes Special Screening of GAURU, Its Latest Children’s Film


MUMBAI – 24thAugust 2016 - Children Film Society, India had organized a special screening of their latest children’s film - "Gauru" at NFDC Theatre at Nehru Centre on Monday for trade partners, distribution and industry representatives in presence for many Bollywood celebrities.Apart from the Bollywood celebrities, the distributors representatives from Sony, Fox and Viacom18 were also present at the event.

Bollywood celebrities like Amol Gupte, Rahul Dholakia, Ila Arun, Rajat Dholakia, Mr. Chandresh Daftary, Ritvik Sahore (Actor who played Gauru), Ashish R Mohan (noted Director) and Rajesh Mapuskar (Director of Ferrari Ki Sawari) and Actor Rahul Singh among others were present to grace the occasion.

Dr. Shravan Kumar, CEO, Children’s Film Society, India said, “Gauru is another beautiful film that has come from the stable of CFSI, which has produced over 260 children’s films in the last many decades. Few years back we undertook theatrical release of Gattu and the journey from Gattu to Gauru has been very exciting. We have undertaken many innovations in marketing and distribution and we hope to undertake many similar and additional initiatives as we go ahead for Gauru also.”

Gauru – Journey of courage is a story set in the hinterland of Rajasthan. It's story of a shepherd community during the time of drought. It showcases how a shepherd grandson fulfils his grandmother’s last wish.  13 -year-old Gauru’s grandmother who is on deathbed has never been to her native place after marriage. It’s her last wish to go her native place. Grandmother’s village is a difficult and distant place to reach. It is million miles away.  It’s time of draught and Gauru’s father can’t fulfil his mother’s last wish.  The story is how Gauru fulfils her grandmother’s last wish by taking the journey against all odds and still surviving.

Gauru has been directed by Ramkishan Choyal and this is his Debut film. The character of Gauru is being played by well know artist Ritvik Sahore, who made his Debut as Kayo in Ferrrari Ki Sawari, a Vidhu Vinod Chopra Production. And the character of Gauri is being played Vedshree Raowhile the Grandmother’s character is being played by well-known actress Ila Arun. Music has been given by Rajat Dholakia.

CFSI has been making films for Indian market since its inception and this would be a collective effort to reach market internationally and make much better cinema which would be entertaining as well as educative.

CFSI was setup in 1955 and since then it has produced over 250 films for children including feature films, short films, animations, television episodes and documentaries.
