Naina’s look in Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai inspired by heroines of the 90’s era

Inspired from the real-life story of producers Shashi and Sumeet Sony Entertainment Television’s new show, ‘Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai’ is a coming of age love story of Naina – a stoic, witty and fearless girl (played by Ashi Singh) & Sameer – a large hearted, flamboyant and obstinate boy (played by Randeep Rai). Naina Agarwal (played by Ashi Singh) the female protagonist of the series is a typical studious and obedient girl. To get the correct look for her character, Ashi Singh watched multiple movies such as Qayamat se Qayamat Tak, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Maine Pyar Kiya, Dil etc. to seek inspiration from the leading ladies of the hit flicks.

When contacted Ashi Singh confirms, “It’s been a great experience shooting for Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai. After bagging the lead role for the series, I took a lot of efforts to ensure that I get into the skin of my character. I watched yester year movies such as Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Maine Pyar Kiya, Dil and more multiple times to study and incorporate the fashion styling and mannerisms of the actresses, about the way they spoke etc. In certain sequences I am sporting a different hairstyle which has been inspired by Madhuri Dixit’s look from her hit movies of the 90s.”
