BRINGING ALIVE THE MARATHI LEGACY PESHWA MUSEUM ON WHEELS EMBARKS ON A NATIONWIDE JOURNEY!

Sony Entertainment Television’s upcoming magnum opus, Peshwa Bajirao is all set to engross the viewers with its riveting storytelling while enlightening about the prodigious Marathi legacy. In a pioneer outreach initiative, Baji (played by Rudra Soni) flagged off a majestic Peshwa Bajirao Museum on Wheels from Mumbai. The canter is designed to introduce and share insights into the grand Marathi values and legacy. Commencing from Mumbai, the museum will reach schools, colleges and other locations across various states in India.

This museum on wheels will display some exclusive and never-seen-before customised weapons which includes Dandpatta, Firangi Talwar, Khanjar and other fascinating artefacts. It will also showcase the Waghanak – the kind of weapon used by Shivaji Maharaj in his famous encounter against Afzhal Khan. Apart from these, the museum will also have replicas of Peshwa Bajirao’s hand written and sealed letter dated 10th December 1721. A Royal Peshwa Pagadi (a variation of the Mughal pagadi) prevalent in those times will also be seen. The museum will have some exquisite ornaments on display like Thushi – a gold choker style neckpiece, Ambada Veni Phool – a hair ornament that is made in 22-carat and worn on the hair bun of the Marathi bride, to name a few.

This one of a kind initiative by Sony Entertainment Television has multiple museums on wheels that move from Mumbai to apprx. 50 cities across India between January 2 and January 23.
