Here’s How Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon’s Barun Sobti Became A TV Heartthrob

Think of romantic heroes on Indian TV and Barun Sobti is probably one of the first names that come to mind. Over nine years in the entertainment industry, the actor's fandom has steadily increased, thanks to Barun not restricting himself to one medium. Be it films, TV or web series, he has explored all options. Here is how Barun Sobti became the leading man we all love.

Not many know this, but Barun got his acting break in 2009, playing a character with shades of grey in the daily soap Shraddha. He forayed into acting after his close friend Karan Wahi persuaded him to do so. Post that, we saw him making a cameo appearance in Karan Singh Grover and Jennifer Winget’s popular show Dill Mill Gayye. This again was a negative role. However, Barun gained recognition after he bagged a role in Sony TV’s Baat Hamari Pakki Hai in 2010. He played this rich spoilt brat, Shravan Jaiswal, who in no time, became an audience favourite. It was this character that got him a Best Actor nomination at the Star Guild Awards that year.
