Shooting for 60 days without a break, Saumya Tandon is left with no time for family

Actor Saumya Tandon is at her wits’ end these days. While professionally she’s enjoying juggling two shows — Entertainment Ki Raat where she’s the host, and her popular comedy show Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain — we have learned that she’s not going to get even a day’s off for the next two months!

Understandably ruffled, Saumya says, “This is really taking a toll on me, because taking up another show along with a daily show is basically inviting trouble. I shoot for the latter for 23-24 days, and the rest of the days are taken up by my hosting gig.”

This also means that she won’t be able to take out any time for her husband or family. “I genuinely have no time for them, because even when I come back home from the shoot, either I have health issues, or I am so exhausted that I go off to sleep early. But luckily, they all have been supportive. My mother is not keeping well, and she had to go to the doctor all by herself. My husband, too, helps whenever he has an off. Recently, he dropped by the sets I was shooting at, just to catch up,” says Saumya.

However, this isn’t the first time that the 32-year-old actor will be shooting non-stop for a show at such a long stretch. It happened with her during her debut show as well.

“I remember, when I first came to Mumbai for my show Aisa Desh Hai Mera and I didn’t get a break for six months, not even a single day! I was very new, and the main lead on top of that, so you don’t even know about your rights since you are naïve. I didn’t know that I could ask for leaves when I was ill. I had vowed that time that I will never do a daily soap again, but here we are!”, she shares.
