#MeToo movement: Actress Parvathy reveals that she was assaulted as child

Actress Parvathy has been very actively supporting the #MeToo

movement in India. Recently, she opened up on how she too was

assaulted when she was a child.Speaking about it, she reportedly stated

that it happened to her when she was about three to four years old and

that it took her 17 years to realise that it did happen to her. She also added

that to speak about it, it took her another 12 years.

Elaborating further about it, she added that it's still a struggle for her on a

daily basis to realise it, acknowledge it and get past it and then let her

friends and parents cope with it. She said that it’s still a daily affair for her

to consider herself a survivor.

The actress also lauded Bollywood industry who apparently acted immediately in cases of sexual harassments. She also said

that it is something that Malayalam film industry needs to learn from Bollywood superstars.
