#MeToo Movement: Diandra Soares questions Amitabh Bachchan’s silence, asks Karan Johar if he knows the meaning of "Girl Power"

In the on-going #MeToo movement in India, several women from different
walks of life came forward with their stories of sexual harassment and
pinned down sexual predators. Former 'Bigg Boss' contestant and model,
Diandra Soares was one of the many who opened up about her #MeToo
moment and accused Suhel Seth of sexual harassment. Since she first
came out about her story, she has gone on record to speak more about
the incident and the movement sweeping across the nation at large. In her
latest interview, with Zoom, Diandra questioned why Amitabh Bachchan is
“silent” and even took a jibe at Karan Johar asking him if he knew the
meaning of “girl power.”
Hitting out at Bollywood megastar, Amitabh Bachchan for his statement,
Diandra asked, “I want to know why the silence." She expressed her
disappointment citing that after making a powerful film like ‘Pink’and went about promoting it, she questioned why there has
not been a questioning at top levels. “I want to ask him, and I’ll do it point blank. I know him, and I have met him, I know his
daughter in law very well, his kids are brought up very well, he has a granddaughter, he has a lot of women in the family, and I
want to know why the silence? And your statement? Really? That’s the statement you gave out,” she said.
