#MeToo movement: Sayani Gupta feels it should have started decades ago, thanks Tanushree Dutta

The #MeToo movement has become a full blown countrywide
phenomenon, with women from all walks of life coming out and naming
and shaming the culprits. Bollywood in particular has been witnessing
major turmoil with several actresses calling out some big names in the
industry on grounds of sexual harassment. Now, actress Sayani Gupta has
something to say on this whole movement.
Speaking about the same, the actress said that she is glad and proud that
women have mustered the courage to speak up against such atrocities. However, she also feels that is should have happened
15-20 years ago as it is not something new and has been going on for generations. She also thanked Tanushree Dutta who has
now literally become the torchbearer of the movement, for it was her who started out the revolution when she accused Nana
Patekar of sexual misconduct.
But Sayani also has a word of caution for women as she added that they should not put themselves in situations where they
feel they might be unsafe.
