Release of Ajay Devgn-starrer film 'Total Dhaamal' gets postponed for this reason
Bollywood is yet to get a hang of the time that goes into post production
of a film, especially when it involves VFX. A lot of films' releases have
suffered due to this, which has resulted in a lot of films being postponed
for similar reasons. The latest to face that is Ajay Devgn starrer 'Total
Dhamaal'. It comes on the heels of the release dates of VFX-heavy films
like '2.0' and 'Manikarnika' being pushed further. Directed by Indra Kumar,
the film, which also stars Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit-Nene, Riteish
Deshmukh and Arshad Warsi, was slated to release on December 7, but
will now release next year on February 22. This bit of information was
revealed by Ajay, who tweeted: "December date with you’ll looks
challenging, but still keeping my Feb date! Due to extensive VFX work,
Total Dhamaal will now release on 22nd Feb and De De Pyaar De moves
to 26th April. latest tweets, it’s been postponed to February 22, 2019." The actor is also the co-producer of the film.
As the tweet reveals that the story does not end with just 'Total Dhamaal'. Postponing the release date of this film has also
affected the release date of the actor's home production, 'De De Pyaar De', which was slated to release on February 2019. It
will now release in April. A source reportedly told the daily that Indian filmmakers have to realise that VFX takes a lot of time.
They should learn from their Hollywood counterparts, who set the release date keeping VFX works in time.
