Shah Rukh Khan shares his thoughts on the #MeToo movement and importance of respecting women

Shah Rukh Khan is one Bollywood star who has been very vocal during
the #MeToo movement in Bollywood, encouraging everyone to
collectively bring a stop to sexual harassment. In the wake of the
movement against sexual predators in the industry,
SRK spoke his mind at
an event, saying that everyone “Should respect the emotion of the women
taking such a strong step in coming out, and being so brave, and help
stop this from happening in our individual industries. The sad part of it is
that you don’t know if it could be happening right under your nose."
The star, who had also once stated that “women are superior to men in
many levels” reiterated the same in an interview with
Indian Express when
asked for his advice to those navigating relationships between the sexes.
Insisting that “respect” was the key to it all, he said that at times his female
friends think he is too formal. He went on to reason that to him, respect meant equality and even admitting to his wife and
women friends that he is weak, because he genuinely loves them.
Opening up about the advice he imparted to his son, he said that he has taught his 21-year-old Aryan Khan the same lessons
on respect and has warned him that disrespecting people is not okay. He explained how knocking on the door before entering
and other such etiquettes are a must
