Heard this? Alia Bhatt to front 'Dostana' sequel

In August last year, it was reported that Karan Johar has green-lit the sequel to his 2008 romcom 'Dostana', which had featured John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra. The filmmaker subsequently set the ball rolling on part 2 and the report had further stated that while he wanted to cast two new actors, like in the original, an A-list actress would be roped in to complete the love triangle.

We have now learnt that Alia Bhatt, who will next be seen in KJo’s films 'Kalank', 'Brahmastra' and 'Takht', is in talks to play the female lead in the much-awaited sequel.

“The conversation has begun, and Alia has liked the idea. She will hear the final script and close the formalities soon. Casting for her two male co-stars is presently underway after which Karan will make the final announcement. Pre-production on the film has also begun,” informs a source close to the development. The original, which was directed by Tarun Mansukhani, revolved around two men who pretend to be gay to share an apartment with a girl and eventually fall in love with her.
