Sanjay Dutt's sister Priya Dutt says she will be forever indebted to Balasaheb Thackeray for supporting him

Congress leader and former Member of Parliament Priya Dutt in an interview said that she and her family will be forever indebted to the late Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray for supporting her brother Sanjay Dutt during the '90s. Actor Sanjay Dutt was charged with the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA) due to his connection with the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case.

Priya Dutt hailed Thackeray as a man of his words and said that while everyone called Sanjay a terrorist, there was Thackeray who said that Sanjay cannot be a terrorist because his family has always worked for the people of the country. Thackeray and Priya's late father Sunil Dutt shared a relationship of mutual respect, even though both had ideological differences.
