“India is a business nation, not a political or military nation” Sadhguru wisely states at The Global Business Summit 2019

People come to me saying that GST has hurt small businesses. But, if we do not make changes then this nation will also remain a small business - Sadhguru

This is our time on the planet. Whether we will make good use of it or not is in our hands – Sadhguru

In the minds and hearts of people if you don't build a nation there is no nation – Sadhguru

If we have 1.3 billion skilled people we can do miracles. The major challenge is to educate them

New Delhi, 23 February 2019: The second day of The Global Business Summit which began with a power packed speech by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, witnessed the presence of Sadhguru, Founder, Isha Foundation in the second session. The guru set the mood of the session by emphasising on the growth India has witnessed over the years, while highlighting some necessary factors that contribute towards the making of a nation.

Gracing the audience with his wise words, Sadhguru, Founder, Isha Foundation initiated the second session of the day by saying, “Nations are made because of race, language, ethnicity and ideologies. In India everything is different. And yet over 50 years we have been a strong entity. People outside think we are an impossible chaos. What looks like chaos on the surface is a very resilient organisation on its own.”

Highlighting India as a nation of business, the guru said, “India is a business nation, not a political or military nation. Political entities came and went, kings and empires came and went but business entities endured. “

Talking about a few key factors that need to be resolved, Sadhguru elaborated, “When it comes to geography, we made a fundamental mistake of breaking India’s geography into three pieces when we started forming new India in 1947. I think it is time to settle the fact that we as a people are a part of this nation. The borders need to be fixed. There should be no confusion for the next generation on what is India and what is not. It is also very important that we explore each and every system and process and see whether they are made for a free India and which are made to enslave India.”

On the future of India and policies that have positively affected the country, the guru added: “People come to me saying that GST has hurt small businesses. But, if we do not make changes then this nation will also remain a small business. Over 240 million people have moved out of poverty, he later added. We have a phenomenal amount of intellect and talent but not enough to organize it. There is a cultural advantage we have over every other nation. As a nation we are standing on a threshold. Now, do we have the courage to take the steps to cross the threshold or just sit there..”

The guru concluded with some more wise words, “This is our time on the planet. Whether we will make good use of it or not is in our hands. Great possibilities for this nation will materialise if only we take few strong steps in the future.”
