NCPA presents the Opera Screening of Carmen by Georges Bizet

Mumbai, February 27, 2019: The opera screening of Carmen will take place on Sunday, 3rd March 2019 at Godrej Dance Theatre, National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA). Produced by Sir Richard Eyre, this new production features the works of Clémentine Margaine, Aleksandra Kurzak, Roberto Alagna and Alexander Vinogradov.

Set in the year 1830 in Seville, Carmen is a half-wild gypsy living with a band of smugglers in the mountains near the coast of Spain. The opera shows the love and jealousy of Don José, who is lured away from his duty as a soldier and his beloved Micaëla by the gypsy factory-girl Carmen, whom he allows to escape from custody.
