'Bharat': Ali Abbas Zafar reveals why directing Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer was like making 7 different films

Disha Patani and Sunil Grover in pivotal roles. Recently, the makers dropped the first track titled 'Slow Motion' and it topped the music charts in no time. In a recent interview, the director of 'Bharat' made some interesting revelations and we bet it is something you shouldn't miss!

Ali Abbas Zafar reportedly stated that making 'Bharat' was like making seven different films. He further elaborated about creating the film from

Partition to the present day India. He spent one-and-a-half years along with production designer Rajnish Hedao and stylists Alvira Agnihotri and Ashley Robello to get his study about the different eras before kickstarting the shoot. Talking about the most challenging part, he said that his guide was the way Partition was depicted in Richard Attenborough's 'Gandhi'.

He further added and stated that the shot the sequence over 10 days in Punjab in freezing cold. This particular sequence required them to recreate a station near Lahore, replete with a steam engine. He revealed that out of five functioning steam engines in the country, they had one brought to Punjab for the shoot. The art department worked on it for 4 days to make it match those from the Northern Frontier Railways of 1947.

The film is slated to release on Eid 2019.
