Hailing from the spiritual city of Varanasi, Vindhya Tiwari has made a mark for herself in the industry with some spectacular and impactful characters across shows. Be it a negative vicious role or a strong urban woman of today, the actress has portrayed every role with absolute perfection and authenticity. Fondly remembered for her varied roles on &TV shows like Waaris, Half-Marriage and Laal Ishq, the actress will be seen gracing the character of a ‘Jogini’ in &TV’s epic fantasy drama, Vikram Betaal Ki Rahasya Gaatha. Setting her current character apart, the actress is set to make a melodious entry that describes the philosophy of life in the show. Yes, for the first time on television, she will sing a song for the show she is acting in!

Sung in an old Hindi dialect, Kharboli, the actress went through intensive preparation before lending her voice for the musical piece. Talking about her preparation, the actress said, “Kharboli is the purest form of Hindi and a dialect which is spoken only in a few parts of India. It was quite a task to talk in this dialect, let alone sing! So, when an opportunity came to sing a song in Kharboli for Vikram Betaal Ki Rahasya Gaatha, I knew it would be a challenge, but an exciting one. With limited resources in hand, I wasn’t sure how to really grasp the words of this dialect. Hence, I decided to resort to taking references from Kabir’s and Sant Namdev’s poetries. I spent hours reading these poetries before I started shooting for the show so as to get the correct accent and tone of the language. Even prior to giving my final recording in the show, I kept rehearsing the song for almost 2 days. Speaking and singing in this language took me back to my roots and made me relive my childhood all over again when I used to hear priests on the banks of the rivers conversing in this dialect."

Vindhya has always been experimental with regards to the choice of her roles as they give her a chance to showcase the not just the best, but also different versions of herself. The actress has done episodic roles previously, but this is the first time the audience will get to see her a completely different avatar. Bringing different twists and turns with every episode, &TV’s Vikram Betaal Ki Rahasya Gaatha is set to see Vindhya Tiwari donning a unique character of a Jogini who also carries several grey shades to her character.

King Vikramaditya has brought her to the Ujjaini palace unknown of her intentions and aspirations towards not just the Kingdom but also his relationship with Rani Padmini. We are curious to know what happens next!
